The deposit
Version 2026-10-23.v1-draft. Draft, to be legally reviewed before validation starts.
What the CHF 20 is
A deposit per runner for the first edition of Run Across Switzerland. It reserves a place on a team during validation and shows us that you really want to run.
It is not an entry fee and not a donation.
Validation
We collect deposits until 31 January 2027. The goal is 200 runners in 50 teams of four. By 15 February 2027 we decide whether the event goes ahead and tell everyone by email. It goes ahead only if there are enough deposits and a workable path to the permits.
If the event goes ahead
We open registration with the entry fee. The entry fee is expected to be CHF 150–250 per runner; we state the exact amount with the decision. The CHF 20 is credited in full.
You pay the remainder by a date we announce with registration, no earlier than four weeks after the decision.
If the final entry fee is above CHF 250, you can ask for your deposit back within 30 days of the announcement.
If it doesn't
If validation isn't reached or we cancel the event, you get your CHF 20 back within 30 days of the decision.
If the date changes
The date 18–19 September 2027 is provisional. If we move the event by more than two weeks, you can ask for a refund within 30 days.
If you can't make it
During validation: email us and we'll refund your deposit as long as the team isn't complete. If it is complete, you can name a replacement; the deposit stays with the team.
After the decision, the registration rules apply.
Teams and places
A team is four runners. A team has a place among the first 50 as soon as all four deposits are paid. Who pays — each runner or the captain for everyone — makes no difference.
Changes to the team are allowed until registration with the entry fee.
Weather, permits, safety
We run the event only with the necessary permits. Conditions set by the authorities — fixed checkpoints or start times, for example — may change the format. That is no reason for a refund as long as start, finish, team size and date stay the same.
Payment
We take payments via Stripe (card, and TWINT where available). We never see card or TWINT details. The receipt comes from Stripe. Refunds go back the way you paid; where that is no longer possible (TWINT allows refunds for 180 days only), by bank transfer.
Who is behind it
